Allocation Philosophy and Uncertainty, Algeria

Requirement 

Specify the allocation philosophy and determine the uncertainty for allocation of Crude Oil, Condensate and LPG for two Crude Oil fields, a Gas Condensate field and an NGL import. 

Solution 

Mass component allocation was selected as there was no recycle to the reception slug catchers and all vapour liquid exchange and gas disposal could be measured. The allocation uncertainty for each field and field owner was found by MCS (Monte Carlo Simulation) with a 23 component mass component allocation model of the plant. Mass component allocation eliminates much of the uncertainty found with the alternative process simulation or shrink and flash adjustment allocation methods.
