SOLV® is proud to have recently provided independent measurement uncertainty analyses for metering systems soon to be installed at a European refinery which is one of the continent’s largest producers of renewable products. The multi-stream Coriolis metering skids will be used to measure the custody transfer of renewable fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel and Bio-propane.
With consideration to flowmeter performance, liquid volume correction, secondary instrumentation and proving operations, all significant sources of uncertainty were quantified. Uncertainties were combined using a Quadrature Root Sum Square method considering correlations between parallel meter streams. Measurement uncertainty was then verified independently by SOLV®’s Monte Carlo Simulation to give complete confidence in results.
SOLV® uncertainty analysis conforms to ISO 5168:2005 “Measurement of fluid flow – Procedures for the evaluation of uncertainties” and verifies whether reported quantities comply with regulatory requirements.
